What are the most important considerations for an effective bathroom layout?
There are a number of very important considerations to bear in mind when designing your new bathroom, or renovating the existing one. Top of this list should be the bathroom layout. But how can you b sure to design an effective bathroom layout? And what are the benefits of a practical bathroom layout? Well, there are several things to think about before deciding on a bathroom layout, and these include:
- The fixtures- before you can decide on a layout, you need to know which bathroom fixtures will be installed, so that you can plan fitting these into the space available. Some bathrooms may need to choose between a shower and a bath for example, or compromise on a shower over bath, as there may not be room for both.
- The floor space- the floor space in the bathroom needs to meet certain building regulations, including free space by the toilet, sink and shower or bath. This can restrict the layout and positioning of your bathroom fixtures. But providing enough space between fixtures is a great way to ensure that your bathroom is practical as well as visually appealing.
- Corners- if your bathroom is a standard rectangular or square shape, using the corners of the room for a corner bath or corner shower can be a great use of space. This is because, by deign, this type of shower or bath will take up much less room, while using up corner space that would most likely be wasted otherwise.
