Plumbing services: why to get a wet room
One of the plumbing services we offer at Lancashire Installations is the installation of wet rooms. A wet room will usually have floor to ceiling tiling, a drain in the floor that fits seamlessly into the design, and very little barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. The floor will usually be very slightly angled to ensure proper drainage of the shower.
Our customers choose to have wet rooms installed for a number of reasons: just because they like the look, or because they have specific access requirements which make them more practical. Whatever the reason, we’ll use our expert product knowledge and years of experience to make sure that your new wet room is everything you wanted.
Here are just some of the benefits of installing a wet room in your property:
They’re stylish
The floor to ceiling tiling that’s a prominent feature of many wet rooms is really very stylish, as it looks sleek and minimalistic. Shower screens are often a single clear sheet, and again this adds to the modern feel of the installation.
They’re a space saver
This is something that you should really bear in mind if you’ve only got a small bathroom. Whilst having a separate bath and shower, or indeed a shower over a bath, is more traditional, the bath can take up an awful lot of space. Installing a wet room can help you make the very most from what space you have.
They’re easier to clean
Because there’s no raised lip for the shower, there are fewer awkward places that need scrubbing. And because there are so many flat surfaces, the cleaning is an awful lot easier all round.
Access is easier than traditional bathrooms
One of the most popular reasons for having a wet room is that of access. For many older people, getting in and out of a bath or shower with a raised lip is difficult, and can be a safety concern. A wet room is much more safe from this point of view.
They can add value to your property
It’s common for a wet room to be installed as a second bathroom or en suite in your property, and where this is the case, it’s common for the value of the property to go up.
If you’ve got any questions at all about wet rooms, or what might be possible in your property, then don’t hesitate to give us a call!
