What are the important design considerations for en-suite bathrooms?

There are a number of design considerations to bear in mind when it comes to your new en-suite bathroom. These considerations include:

  • The style or design- because an en-suite bathroom follows on from your bedroom, you will want to keep the design theme the same, or very similar. For example, walking from a modern, contemporary bedroom, to a very traditional or rustic bathroom could be disorienting. Keeping to the same style of design can create a more effective space, and improve the flow from one room to another.
  • The fixtures you want to include- while this may be restricted by the shape and size of your bathroom, you will still need to decide on the fixtures that you want to include in your en-suite bathroom. Double vanity sink units for example can be a great option for a shared en-suite, while choosing a shower or bath will help make this space more practical, depending on your requirements.
  • The use of space- en-suite bathrooms are typically smaller than the main bathroom or family bathroom. But this doesn’t mean it can’t fit a shower, or even a bath if you would prefer. Using the space available with the right layout can help you fit more fixtures into the space effectively. You may even want to consider slimline fixtures for even more space.
